Back when I lived in the San Fernando Valley [AKA where people go to die], it got really hot in the summertime. If it were 90° in the rest of Los Angeles County, it was 100° where I was. Frugality, tinged with a desire to know I could take it, prompted me to avoid using air conditioning at all costs. I simply had to find a more efficient way to keep cool. I can’t remember what prompted me to try it, but it quickly became my favorite summer treat: frozen grapes.
- Wash and pluck individual green grapes off the vine
- Place grapes in a freezer-safe container
- Place container in freezer for a couple hours
- Eat and cool off
Way cheaper and healthier for you than ice cream on a stick from a creepy ice cream truck.
